First Time Blogging – Resources

Hey there! Some links on this page are affiliate links which means that, if you choose to make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I greatly appreciate your support! View my full disclosure HERE.

Are you a mom like me who’s always trying to contribute just a little more to the family finances to give your budget a little wiggle room? With blogging, you can do just that.

Let me tell you something, you are giving a lot more to your family than you give yourself credit for.

If you are pinching pennies by grabbing that off brand item at the grocery store, making sure your husband has enough for lunch the next day by refusing to eat seconds at dinner, or continuing to “go without” when you think of something new you’d really like to purchase, then you are walking where many moms continue to walk every. single. day.

Thank you for giving to your family in ways NO ONE will ever see.

I’m new to the blogging world, and I’m hoping that one day I will be able to give my family a little extra fun, and surprise friends with little “happies” here and there.

As I dive into this journey of blogging, here are some resources I am currently using to get started:

For the Blogging Website

  • Blue Host
  • WordPress
  • 17th Avenue Designs

For the Blog Itself:

  • Jennie Leigh – Blog Biz Bootcamp
  • Taylor Stanford – Free Blogging Course
  • Trello – Blogging Notes

‌

Pinterest:

  • Taylor Stanford – Pinterest Course
  • Canva
  • Asana

‌

I currently work remotely full time, and I’m a stay-at-home-mom of two kiddos.

My blogging journey is going a lot slower than most, but I’m learning to set my expectations accordingly.

If you’re looking for a few extra ways to stay motivated as a SAHM, read more HERE!

With Christmas/Birthday money from last year, I was able to purchase a three-year Blue Host subscription for website hosting and also pay for a course or two to help me get started. It’s possible to do everything for free, but my time is limited and I’m willing to pay a little extra for the help.

Can’t wait to see where this takes me!

Played out in the rain for two hours yesterday. Le Played out in the rain for two hours yesterday. Let the kids stay up past their bedtime to chase a spider. Counted the seconds between lightning and thunder. Put them to bed with dirty feet.

I’ve been looking forward to summer as soon as it ended last year. So glad I get to share it with these two little chickens.

I love having a little boy. I love having a little boy.
I was so zoned in on my work that I totally missed I was so zoned in on my work that I totally missed when Huck found some styrofoam from a box I received. I looked up and was slightly horrified.

It was too late to say no.

It was too late to snatch that trash outta his hand.

Instead, I took a moment to just enjoy their enjoyment.

It took me a while to vacuum up the mess that nearly covered the floor, but one day I know I’ll be wishing I had more remnants of their childhood to clean up.

One day I’ll hear the echos of my own voice in an empty home with no mess to clean, no baby to hold.

So here’s your reminder to just let them make a mess every once in a while. It’ll be gone soon.
