Home Sweet Home

Hour by hour where memories are made

On the window panes where the hands prints never fade.

Maybe the door knobs feel a warm greeting,

Even the dust settles in, rarely their seen fleeting.

Sizzles of bacon still linger around

Warm baked bread that makes smiles abound.

Every day there’s peanut butter,

Every day there’s want for a sweet.

Thank the Lord for those simple treats.

Hold the hands back so the babies stay longer.

Only so much time for growth built in wonder.

Moments held dear will never be wasted.

Every “I love you” on our hearts will be pasted.

Played out in the rain for two hours yesterday. Le Played out in the rain for two hours yesterday. Let the kids stay up past their bedtime to chase a spider. Counted the seconds between lightning and thunder. Put them to bed with dirty feet.

I’ve been looking forward to summer as soon as it ended last year. So glad I get to share it with these two little chickens.

I love having a little boy. I love having a little boy.
I was so zoned in on my work that I totally missed I was so zoned in on my work that I totally missed when Huck found some styrofoam from a box I received. I looked up and was slightly horrified.

It was too late to say no.

It was too late to snatch that trash outta his hand.

Instead, I took a moment to just enjoy their enjoyment.

It took me a while to vacuum up the mess that nearly covered the floor, but one day I know I’ll be wishing I had more remnants of their childhood to clean up.

One day I’ll hear the echos of my own voice in an empty home with no mess to clean, no baby to hold.

So here’s your reminder to just let them make a mess every once in a while. It’ll be gone soon.
