Bible Resources for Children

Hey there! Some links on this page are affiliate links which means that, if you choose to make a purchase, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I greatly appreciate your support! View my full disclosure HERE.

Whether you’re in the market for your church’s children’s department or for your own family, searching for Christian Bible resources that are 1) theologically sound, and 2) enjoyable for kids to look at can be difficult. There are so many great options available today!

If you haven’t the time to do your research, I’ve put together a very brief list of simple books that are contextually clear, lyrically beautiful, and colorfully bound.

Most of these books will be found in my own home. Some of which are in my amazon cart right now for purchase.

I hope your children enjoy these books as much as mine do!

As a side note: If you’re looking to start teaching your children to pray, here’s an excellent prayer that we use in our home for each meal. Not only does it point your children to Jesus, it teaches them how to pray when they don’t yet have the words to speak to God.

Bibles

I’ve only included two Story Bibles in this post. The stories are very similar in length, but the illustrations are completely different. We use both of these in my home.

The Jesus Storybook Bible is smaller and easy for the kids to carry around the house. The Biggest Story Bible Storybook is much larger. We like to keep this on our kitchen counter where the kids sit for breakfast each morning.

The Biggest Story Bible Storybook

The rest of the resources listed are all hardback books, focusing on simple topics and messages for children. They are fun to read, and most importantly, teach biblical truths that explain who God is and why we are here.

Played out in the rain for two hours yesterday. Le Played out in the rain for two hours yesterday. Let the kids stay up past their bedtime to chase a spider. Counted the seconds between lightning and thunder. Put them to bed with dirty feet.

I’ve been looking forward to summer as soon as it ended last year. So glad I get to share it with these two little chickens.

I love having a little boy. I love having a little boy.
I was so zoned in on my work that I totally missed I was so zoned in on my work that I totally missed when Huck found some styrofoam from a box I received. I looked up and was slightly horrified.

It was too late to say no.

It was too late to snatch that trash outta his hand.

Instead, I took a moment to just enjoy their enjoyment.

It took me a while to vacuum up the mess that nearly covered the floor, but one day I know I’ll be wishing I had more remnants of their childhood to clean up.

One day I’ll hear the echos of my own voice in an empty home with no mess to clean, no baby to hold.

So here’s your reminder to just let them make a mess every once in a while. It’ll be gone soon.
